Genevieve, Washington, Reynolds, Jefferson and Iron counties in Missouri The Obstetrics Department at Parkland Health Center conducts childbirth classes, which include Lamaze, breastfeeding, prenatal and postnatal care, and for siblings. Childbirth classes are available to all moms-to-be in the seventh month of pregnancy. Topics include different birthing methods, including Lamaze. The class teaches birthing options, discusses medications and teaches participants what to expect during the last trimester. Breastfeeding classes are taught one-on-one with the mother before she delivers, and after delivery on an outpatient basis. Sibling classes teach young children basic baby facts, and they get to see a short film.
